When will you recover after ACL surgery ?

Hello Friends! Many times, I have been told that "because U suggested ACL surgery, I have gathered courage." And I will get ACL done at your place only. But, please tell me how many days it will take me to get completely fit. This means, in how many days I will be able to do all my work... When can I start running and play sports? This question is asked several times to me. Friends, watch this full video from start to end. And I will tell you how many days after ACL, you can get completely fit. Greetings friends... My name is Dr. Naveen Sharma and our hospital is known for being one of those doing the highest no. of ACL cases. Friends, ACL surgery is a very successful surgery. And in most cases, patients get back to their pre-injury state. But people do ask me, in how many days can we get fit. Friends, how many days do we get fit, depends on 3 factors. First is your background prior to your injury. Do you belong to Army or Police? In which kind of services are you involved... Are you a regular gym-goers or a civilian? The second factor that affects is the status of your muscles. Because some people prolong this ACL surgery for months and years... Then it takes some time to recover. The third important point is that the Meniscus has been repaired or there was no problem of Meniscus. So, let me tell you in brief that if you are a normal person, at what speed your ACL recovery will happen? You start walking from the next day of the operation. And you will see that in 15-16 days, you will be able to leave the walker and start walking without it. For leg support, knee braces are given... Friends, if my protocol is to give knee braces, but... if I share the experienced that I had in foreign countries... There they give neither a knee brace, nor a walker. But the patients stay very careful. In Indian conditions, there is a crowd, while traveling by bus or elsewhere and there is a risk of jerks. So, I will recommend that you put knee brace for 6 weeks. So that you do not get hurt even if you get jerks. After 6 weeks, you can start walking without a knee brace. If you have stairs at home, you can start climbing stairs too after 6 weeks. Or you can start stairs after 20-21 days too. In 2 months, you will become absolutely normal so that you can walk 2/3/4 kms, climb stairs and do all your work. But, you can't sit on the floor, or can’t use an Indian toilet... and you have to use the western toilet only. In the 3rd month, we start jogging for the patient. Most of the patients, start jogging in the 3rd month. The calendar I am showing is a relative calendar. Some might take 15 days less, and some 15 days more. Friends, we start running in the 6th month. Many people ask when they can start using Indian toilets. From the 5th month, you can sit with crossed legs and also use Indian toilets. So, in 5th month, you can start using Indian toilets and in the 6th month you can start running. Then the next question is about long jump and high jump. Generally, in the 7th or 8th month, I allow patients to do the high jump or long jump and in the 9th month, playing sports is allowed. Friends, for sports, more than duration, your regular physiotherapy is more important. We provide you with the exercise till Phase 6. The purpose of these exercises is to train your muscles for any kind of a jerk. It has been observed that those who resume sports early... in 3-3.5 months, due to the sports pressure or job pressure, they start playing... and they get ACL tear again. So, don't start sports early. The current global survey says that you complete exercises till Phase 6. Complete the advanced ACL rehab. After that, if you start the long jump or high jump, you will get better results. And there will be meek chances of getting ACL tear again. So, friends, this was all the information in brief. Now, if you have Meniscus too, you have to consider 45 more days. You cannot walk with weight immediately as it may cause the failure of Meniscus tear repair. If you have multiple ligaments or a Meniscus tear, then recovery can be 1 to 2 months her and there. Friends, in recovery, never get worried about getting bound by time. Some people call me saying that 6 months have gone by, but I am not able to jog. What will happen? Everybody's body responds differently. And the time for recovery is different for everybody. Not necessary, that the time taken by your peer in gym, to make 6 packs Abs; you will make it in the same time. My only suggestion is to do your exercise regularly. Take a protein diet, stay away from stress, and drink maximum water. Take the supplements suggested by us. And recovery might take 1 or 2 more months, but will surely happen. Friends, this was the information about ACL recovery in brief If you have any questions regarding ACL ligaments, then message me on the below-mentioned number And I will help you completely. Thanks, friends.
